Christmas Event Our Christmas Event fell on a beautiful moonlit evening and was the best yet with an amazing turnout. The event hosted 50 stalls selling wonderful gifts, wine, cakes and goodies of all sorts, several food vans, pop up restaurants and fairground attractions. We enjoyed carols from Storrington Primary School, wonderful vibes from the Worthing Steel Band, and a variety of solo and ensemble artists. The Parish Council is very grateful to Henry Adams and Tesla Engineering for their generous sponsorship, and to the many High St businesses who went above and beyond to ensure that the evening was a huge success. Stork Fest The Parish Council ICE Committee has begun planning the White Stork and Nature Revival event for Saturday 23rd May 2026 in partnership with the White Stork Project, the Knepp Wildland Foundation and the European Stork Villages Network. Due to the great success of last year's event, we expect increased interest from stall holders, charities and organisations. There are opportunities for sponsors to support this unique event and for volunteers who would like to get involved in organising and promoting the day. Please get in touch with the parish office with questions or suggestions for the event. Finance The Finance & Governance Committee is finalising the 26/27 budget in time to request their annual precept from Horsham District Council. Additional income is available to the Parish Council through the hire of the Parish Hall, allotment rentals and the Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) - a contribution payable by developers, to be spent on projects that directly benefit the community such as improvements to our play areas and other parish-owned properties and facilities. Meadowside A 15-strong team of Storrington Conservation Society volunteers, local councillors and HDC staff spent an afternoon of hands-on habitat care pulling out more than a hundred sycamore saplings and planting black poplars, opening up the woodland floor so existing trees can thrive. New Website Our new website was launched earlier this month. We would like to thank the Storrington Camera Club for partnering with us on the new Gallery feature which shows people living, playing and working across the parish. We are now inviting you to submit photos to us for the Gallery update in March. Photos can be of people, activities or places around across Storrington, Sullington and Cootham. For information about the format of photos, please check on the parish website or contact the parish office. Parish email: office@storrington-pc.gov.uk
